We all love our dogs (unless you’re a cat person of course); they are, after all man’s best friend. Not only that, they are very loyal companions who got nothing else to give but love! That is why it is important that we know what kind of foods we are giving them besides their own dog food. Doing this will help save your beloved pet’s life in the future!

  • Alcohol

Alcohol may be safe for humans but for dogs, it can be a disaster. Alcohol may not only cause intoxication but will also result to acidity, coma and death to your dog.

  • Avocado

These may be delicious and healthy but it contains persin which causes dogs to vomit, have diarrhea and may also lead to heart congestion.

  • Cooked bones

Bones are great but there’s danger to giving them to your dogs too especially when it’s cooked. However, if you want to give your dog a bone, choose one that’s uncooked. This is beneficial for their teeth.

  • Candies, gum and chocolate

Candies and chocolates contain sugar but it is also often mixed with xylitol which can release insulin and kidney failure to your pet. Chocolates have caffeine, theobromine and theophylline which can be toxic for your dogs. These toxins can cause damage to your pet’s heart and nervous system.

  • Coffee

Coffee spells poison to dogs which are similar to giving chocolates. So don’t even think about it.

  • Fish

Fish like salmon and trout are proven to be dangerous to dogs. When they are given raw, they can be fatal since they carry a parasite called Nanophyetus salmincola. If this is not treated properly, your dog may have a chance of recovering. In case you want to give them fish, make sure it’s well-cooked and deboned.

  • Human vitamins

Although some vitamins may be okay to use there are human vitamins out there that can be dangerous to your dogs. Avoid giving your dog vitamins with iron as it can destroy the kidneys and liver.
