About eight out of ten people love dogs. Who wouldn’t? Dogs are playful, loyal companions that will never leave you. Dogs think about if you are rich or poor just as long as they love you, they will surely have a reason to wag their tails whenever they see your face.

Unfortunately there are also heartless people who do not take care of their dogs as much as others would. Because of this, a lot of dogs have been abandoned and living in the streets. However, we are grateful for the people who have given their best efforts to rescue these dogs so they can find a new home and start all over again.

Now a lot of people might not agree with me when I say that rescued dogs are better compared to one sold at pet shops however they are two different cases and each dog came from different backgrounds. In this article, we will focus more on the rescued dogs and why they are great having as pets.

One of the best reasons why rescued dogs make good pets is that you are saving a dog’s life. Of course getting dogs at a puppy mill is also great but you have to understand that rescued dogs only have a certain time allowed. If they are not adopted as soon as possible, there’s a chance of them being put down. Because of the limited spaces in animal shelters, some of them are euthanized to make way for the others.

Rescued dogs are healthy dogs. Since they have been taken cared of from the day they were rescued, you can rest assure that the dogs you get are healthy and vaccinated. Most shelters examine and give vaccinations to animals when they arrive, and many spay or neuter them before being adopted so you know that the dog you will be getting is safe to have.

Adopting rescued dogs will save you money. Instead of buying, you can contact your local shelter and see if there are any dogs up for adopting. They are much less expensive compared to buying one at the pet store. In addition to that, these rescued dogs are already vaccinated; sprayed or neutered which is a great deal if you ask me!

Rescued dogs are already house-trained, although they may have some personalities that come along with it, you won’t have a hard time teaching them new tricks since they already have the previous training.

Lastly, rescued dogs will be forever grateful to your decision of adopting them. You will receive unconditional loving and kisses every day from these pooch! Now isn’t that a good reason to adopt them?

Dogs make great pets and companions, no doubt about that. So if you decide on getting one, make sure to visit your local animal shelter. These dogs are just waiting to be called. Your adoption means hope for them, so make sure that you check them out before anything else. Good luck!
