4. Cleansing With Steam

A steam cleanse is one of the best ways to achieve a clean, clear face! Why? Steam offers a deeper cleanse than an ordinary foaming cleanser. Steam helps draw out dirt and purify the skin by opening the pores; it helps minimize skin irritation, infection and acne. Regular face steaming also inhibits acne or pre-menstrual breakouts!

Even better, you don’t need to buy any fancy-schmancy face gadget to steam your face clean. All you need is a small basin, your body towel and something to hold your bangs back.

So first things first, tie your hair with a terry cloth headband or a hair tie. Next, cleanse your face with your favorite cleanser, get a shallow basin or a glass bowl, and fill it with boiling water, carefully. Place the basin or bowl in a very stable table. With your body towel, drape it on your head and make a tent-like thing over the bowl or basin so the steam won’t dissipate into the air.

If the water is too hot for your face, try to move away from the bowl. Sit and let your face steam away for a good 10 or 15 minutes. When you’re done, simply rinse your face with warm water and add your favorite toner and moisturizer.

As an added bonus, after steaming the face, quickly slap on a nose strip, let it dry and then yank it off from the bottom of the strip and up to the face. Steaming helps open up the pores on the nose, making it easy to remove MORE of those pesky blackheads with a nose strip. You’re welcome.
