One of life’s most frustrating inevitability is facial wrinkles. A combination of normal aging, gravity, and bad habits cause deep and superficial creases all over the face to develop. The good news is, you don’t have to invest a small fortune on expensive skin treatments to rejuvenate the skin. Sticking to good skin care habits promotes better-looking skin! Keep wrinkles at bay with these simple, smart habits:
Consistent Skin Care Regimen
Your fight against wrinkles starts at sticking to an excellent skin care regimen consistently. Your skin care regimen should compose of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Cleanse your face with a mild facial wash, one that does not strip the skin of its natural oils. Cleaning removes grime and grease that accelerate skin aging.
The next step is toning. Toning removes dirt left over by facial cleansing. It also treats specific skin issues while prepping the skin for the final step in your skin care regiment. The final step is moisturizing. Use a nourishing moisturizer rich in antioxidants. Extra: Use a facial scrub to slough off dead skin cells once every week for smooth, clear skin. Every time you head out, make a habit out of wearing sunblock with high SPF for good measure!

Superfoods
Superfoods are nutrient-dense foods packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants are nutrients that protect healthy cells from the damages caused by free radicals. Free radicals are harmful ions that target and damage healthy cells, causing premature aging! Apart from accelerated aging, free radical damage increases the risk of chronic diseases including cancer.
Foods high in antioxidants include green leafy vegetables, berries, vividly colored fruits and vegetables. These foods are packed with antioxidants that protect healthy cells from environmental stressors.
Proper Hydration
Better hydration leads to plumper, younger-looking skin! Drink at least 8 8-ounces of water every day to reduce wrinkles, sagginess, and blemishes. Apart from plain water, boost your consumption of fruit juices, herbal tea, fruit tea, smoothies, soups, milkshakes, and vegetable juices. We also recommend eating fruits with high water content such as pears, oranges, apples, watermelon, and grapes!
Regular Exercise
Exercising regularly boosts blood circulation. When the cells are getting enough oxygen, it will show on your skin! Better circulation promotes younger looking skin! We recommend all sorts of low-impact exercises to boost skin health such as yoga, Pilates, cycling, swimming, and spinning.
You don’t have to spend a large chunk of your time working out to achieve better-looking skin. Exercising for at least 20 minutes every day is enough to keep the skin healthy.
Alleviate Stress
Stress is very damaging to the skin. It causes hormonal imbalance that leads to bad skin, breakouts, uneven skin tone and yes, wrinkles! Worse, stress could lead to overeating and intense cravings for unhealthy foods! To keep your skin smooth, clear, and youthful, find better ways to cope with stress.
Meditation, breathing exercises, a good massage, and drinking tea, all these help alleviate stress and promote better skin! Getting better sleep every night, facial massages, and indulging yourself in your favorite hobby are other ways to manage stress.
