Avoid Drinking Alcohol
Excessive and long-term alcohol consumption will lead to liver damage. Too much alcohol leads to liver damage because it’s extremely hard to process, causing much strain. The toxins in the drink could also disrupt the normal functions of your organ, leading to damages to the liver that are beyond repair. Most processed food contains either too much salt or too much sugar (or both at the same time). They are laden with preservatives and chemicals to improve their appearance and these could be toxic to the liver.
When you eat too much processed food, you make the liver work harder to get rid of toxins that cause it to weaken. When the liver is weak, it leaves the body vulnerable to liver disease. Cut back on sweets or salty snacks and turn to whole foods instead. Boost your consumption of fruits and vegetables; use honey instead of refined sugar. If you can, turn to organically produced fruits and vegetables to minimize the chances of consuming trace chemicals from pesticides, etc. In addition, find meat sources that do not use antibiotics or other chemicals to raise the animals.
Boost Essential Fatty Acid Consumption
An effective way to achieve healthy liver is to boost the level of essential fatty acids in the diet, particularly omega-3 fatty acids. Essential fatty acids help minimize the triglyceride liver enzyme level in the body. Triglyceride is an important compound in the body but too much of it could cause liver inflammation and other types of liver disorders. To get your required dietary amount of essential fatty acids, eat oily fishes like salmon, tuna, and sardines at least twice per week or take omega-3 supplements every day.
