Nepal is one of the most popular trekking spots in the world. The Nepalese Himalayas presents a dizzying array of trekking routes that lead to stunning landscapes. In today’s post, we are walking you through some of the best trekking spots in Nepal:

Manaslu Circuit Trek

The Manaslu Circuit Trek offers a panoramic view of the Nepal-Tibet border as well as a stunning view of the Manaslu Mountain. In fact, this specific trek goes around the mountain, which is the 8th highest in the world. The trek ends at the Larkya pass, which offers a gorgeous view of Mount Manaslu. The trail traverses through beautiful mountains, Hindu, and Tibetan villages, as well as monasteries and Mountain passes.  The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most recommended trekking spots in the region. The trek requires a minimum of two trekkers plus a Nepali guide or porter.

Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest Base camp is a trek that goes to the base camp of Mount Everest, not all the way to the top of the mountain. The trek offers gorgeous views of the mountain. The trail weaves through Himalayan vistas, valleys, Buddhist monasteries, and villages. This trek is best for those who want to explore the Sherpa villages as well as trekkers who want to check out Mount Everest up close.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon Hill is the perfect trekking spot for beginners. The trail is relatively short and easy, weaving through verdant farmlands, thick forests, vistas, and villages. This is a great trek to try during the spring season when the rhododendron forest is blooming! Apart from being an easy trail, the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek also boasts of a sunrise view of the Annapurna range.

Langtang Valley Trek

The Langtang Valley is world renowned for its sprawling vegetation and picturesque villages. The trek offers an excellent view of the Langtang Ri, the Annapurnas, and Makalu! Although Langtang Valley is close to Kathmandu, the region remains untamed and full of surprises. This trekking spot is perfect for those who want to see beautiful glaciers at relatively low altitude. The valley also presents a stunning look at the mountainous regions of Nepal.

Upper Mustang

This trail is culturally and geopolitically sensitive area. It wasn’t open for trekking until the early 90s. Since then, the Upper Mustang became one of the most popular trekking spots in the region. Thanks to its remoteness, the Upper Mustang is able to maintain centuries old landscapes and culture. The trail transverses through ancient Buddhist monasteries, semi-arid desert, cliffs, and rock shelves with snowy peaks. This trail is a must-try for those who want to see the Nepalese trails at its rawest. Again, the trek requires a minimum of two trekkers and a Nepali guide or porter to secure a permit to explore this trail.

Kanchanjunga Base Camp Trek

This trail goes all the way to the world’s second highest mountain, Mount Kanchajunga. The trek boasts of the stripped down beauty of eastern Nepal. It takes travelers to the wild, mountainous regions of Nepal and its wildlife. Because the trail is very remote, you get to see the unspoiled beauty of the surrounding terrain of the region and the hardy people who inhabit it.
