One of the best time investments in your day is taking five or ten minutes each morning to make sure you look good. This may sound like vanity, or even like an extra burden during busy mornings, but you owe it to yourself to see that you’re well groomed and looking your best before you leave the house. Knowing how good you look will make you happier and more confident throughout your day. When you take good care of yourself, you’re more likely to be able to focus on your work and take good care of others.

Take a look in the mirror. Do you like your outfit? Is it comfortable? Is the cut and color flattering to your frame? Uncomfortable clothing leads to fidgeting and worrying about your appearance. Taking the time in the morning to dress in a way you’re happy with eliminates worry about your appearance throughout the day. This allows you to focus on the task at hand. Think of this as a time investment. Ten minutes in the morning cuts out hours of being uncomfortable during the day.

Some women feel as though nothing looks good on them, and they never have anything to wear. No matter your shape or weight, there are clothing styles that will work on your body. Spend some time evaluating your body. Be kind, gentle, and uncritical of yourself. This is not the time to get down about your belly or thighs. Simply take in what you have and learn how to dress it.

For instance, some women with broader, boyish frames feel they have a lot of trouble looking pretty and feminine. Many women with these body types suffer because most clothing for women is not cut to fit them in a flattering way. However, there are many fashion tips and tricks to achieve a style that is flattering and comfortable.

Take the time to evaluate your frame. Have a friend act as a second set of eyes to help you figure out what looks good. Every woman has a different body shape, and finding the right styles or cuts can be difficult. Figuring out how your body is shaped and what works best at it helps you build a wardrobe you’re comfortable in. Thinning down your wardrobe to only what you’re comfortable in will make dressing in the morning- and looking good- much easier.

Spend time to make sure you are well groomed. Are your eyebrows neat? Is your hair combed and styled as you like it? Are all blemishes appropriately hidden?

Taking good care of your skin to avoid blemishes and breakouts is an important component to looking your best. Even if you’re tired or busy, taking the time to gently wash dirt and oil from your face twice a day will cut down on blemishes and make your skin grow. Be sure to drink plenty of water to keep your body comfortable, hydrated, and your skin glowing.

Spending a little bit of time each day to make sure you look good helps you improve the quality of your life in other areas. When you leave the house knowing you look good, your appearance is no longer a worry, and your mind is free to fully engage with the rest of life.
